U.S. Marines-
J.C. Leyendecker was one of the best known illustration artists of the early 20th Century. Having studied art starting at an early age, he went on to create hundreds of magazine covers including many for Saturday Evening Post. He also did many illustrations for the Arrow Shirt & Collar Company. In this poster the detail in the mens' uniforms is extraordinary. The uniforms look as they are made from shiny nylon, which of course they would not have been reality. Another very idealized view of service as a U.S. Marine.
